Under the chestnut tree, a bunch of Affenzahn animals are hiding. Have you spotted them yet? And here’s how you can turn chestnuts into funny Affenzahn animals yourself!
What do I need to make chestnut animals?
Chestnuts
Chestnut drill
Watercolors and paintbrush
Toothpicks
Scissors and glue
Waterproof markers
Twigs, feathers, chestnut shells
Beads, wool, pipe cleaners, cardboard scraps
Color the light spot on the chestnut with watercolors and let the paint dry well.
Now you can draw funny faces on the chestnuts with waterproof markers, or you can cut out eyes and a snout from colored paper and glue them onto the chestnut.
Use the chestnut drill to make two holes in your chestnut, insert a small piece of toothpick into each hole, and glue a bead on top. The ears of Brown Bear and friends are ready!
With some wool, you can quickly create messy hair for your chestnut animals. Drill a hole in your chestnut and use a toothpick to push a piece of wool into it. The hairstyle is done!
But cracked chestnut shells, small sticks, or feathers also make wonderful decorations for your funny Affenzahn animal gang.
You can easily connect two chestnuts with a toothpick. To do this, drill a small hole in each chestnut using the chestnut drill and join the two chestnuts with a piece of toothpick.
Have fun crafting, and if you have a few chestnuts left over, you can bury them in soil. With a bit of luck, a new chestnut tree will grow from them.
