DIY Waldschätze: Make fun animals from sticks and stones

15.06.2026
From sticks to pebbles to the monkey-toothed creature. Today we’re going to make things and play with our forest treasures, but first we’re heading out on a treasure hunt in the great outdoors. Are you in?

What do I need?

Sticks & stones

Keep your eyes open – the best crafting treasures are waiting to be discovered outside.

Felt scraps

Perfect for ears, wings and loads of crazy ideas.

Acrylic paints & pens

Now it’s time to get creative – give your forest treasures their own unique look.

Leftover wool

Using colourful scraps of wool, you can give your forest treasures hair, manes or fun details.

Glue & scissors

This will help your ideas come together and be given the finishing touches.

Step 1

First, you can paint the stones and sticks you’ve collected with acrylic paints. Choose a colour that matches your chosen Monkey Tooth animal.

Step 2

Whilst the paint is drying, you can cut out ears, feathers, a beak or a mane from felt and stick them onto the dried sticks and stones.

Step 3

Now it’s time to add the details. Grab a few acrylic pens and draw on some eyes, whiskers or a snout.

Step 4

You can wrap wool around your sticks and tie it tightly.

Step 5

Now your animals are ready for a fun game in the forest.

Create your very own forest figures. Have fun! Get inspired!
