At Affenzahn, we design all our children's shoes according to the barefoot shoe principle. With our barefoot shoes, we want to lay the foundation for the healthy development of children's feet. Find out what that means here.

When children explore the world barefoot, it's not only fun for them, but it’s also the best thing for the development of their feet. The feeling of being barefoot is recreated with barefoot shoes. Our shoes have a very thin sole and zero heel, so there’s no drop between the heel and the ball of the foot. Wearing barefoot shoes allows children to really sense the ground beneath them and constantly receive new sensory stimuli – supporting their development.

The Affenzahn barefoot shoes have a wide toe area so that each toe has room to move and grow in a healthy way. When toes have enough wiggle room, they automatically move more. This allows the foot muscles to remain in motion due to the increased space. This creates warmth and keeps your feet nice and warm. Since children are almost always on the move and rarely stand in one spot, they have even fewer problems with barefoot shoes in winter than adults.

Not only is the design child-friendly, the fastener is also easy to open and close!

Our barefoot shoes are so light and so comfortable! Almost like not wearing any shoes at all.

The sole is thin and flexible based on the barefoot shoe principle and allows the child’s foot to discover and develop in the best way.

Feet have enough room to grow and roll from heel to toe in our shoes. Nothing slips here with the tightly stitched soles.

Our little animals help differentiate between right and left.

The reflective elements ensure better visibility.

Our shoes have a fun and unique tread that is slip-resistant.
